Save the Date - LEAD 2027
February 27, 2026
Legislative Education and Advocacy Day (LEAD)
Every year, NASW Indiana Chapter members and advocacy partners are joined at the Indiana Statehouse by students from Social Work programs around the state to demonstrate and reflect on the impact social workers can have on state policies when we come together in advocacy. We hear from legislators and advocacy partners about current legislation that matter to social workers as well as strategies for advocacy when legislators aren't in session.
What to Expect at LEAD
Typically, anywhere from 150-350 attendees (sometimes more!) will be gathered in either the North or South Atrium of the Statehouse building for LEAD. Seating is available for the rally portion of the day (roughly 11am-1pm), but seating is not guaranteed as we use the RSVP numbers to estimate seating and often have more people attend than RSVP.
Below is a sample agenda and information from our 2026 event to give you a better sense of the day.
